Your basecamp for Ozark trail adventures
The "Back 40" has always been more than land — it's a way of life.
It's what farmers used to call the farthest stretch of their fields — the quiet part, where hard work turned into reflection, and neighbors became family.
That's what this place stands for.
It started with a few friends looking for somewhere to park, grill, and breathe. It turned into a gathering spot for folks who love the outdoors, a little peace, a little music, and a whole lot of good food.
Over the years, Back 40 RV has grown into a tight-knit community built on old-school values: good food, good friends, and a good laugh when things go sideways.

Quality RV sites in the Ozarks
Where smoke, love, and laughter meet — every year, the heart of Back 40 RV beats louder, and it smells like hickory.
Frankie "Tupac" rolled in one night with enough meat to feed the whole county — 47 hot dogs, to be exact. Someone joked, "Man, this ain't camping, this is Meat-a-Palooza!"
They laughed, they ate, and without realizing it, they'd just started a tradition.
Today, Meat-a-Palooza is a full-on community cook-off where anything meat can win:
Each year, proceeds go to Project Soulflower — a nonprofit honoring a cousin who passed at just twenty years young. Her dream was to help young adults who've outgrown Make-A-Wish still create lasting memories with their families.
When the grills fire up and the music kicks in, we're not just cooking — we're remembering her spirit, helping others find hope, and keeping that flame alive.
There's something different about the people here — they're the kind of folks who'll hand you a beer before you finish parking.
Wednesday nights around the fire. Just a group of neighbors that get together every week — that's just how life is around here. Friends talking about nothing and everything all at once.
Music, meat, and memories. Campers lined up, lawn chairs in a circle, dogs underfoot, and the glow of firelight dancing off every face.
They'll loan you a wrench, a lighter, or a laugh — whichever you need most. Someone's always telling a story that ends with everyone howling.
Bring your rig, your cooler, and your best stories. There's always room for one more chair around the fire. It's real. It's raw. It's what community used to mean — and still does here.
We can't promise you perfect Wi-Fi or spotless gravel pads, but we can promise you something better
No corporate call centers. No automated responses. Just Mark and the Back 40 family who genuinely care about your stay.
There's always smoke in the air and something good on the grill. We take our BBQ seriously around here.
The kind of moments that remind you what matters. Good stories, good laughs, and good friends around the fire.
Folks still wave when you drive by. Your neighbors become friends. That's just how we do things here.

Our location offers the perfect balance - peaceful rural setting with convenient access to trails, restaurants, shopping, and attractions.
